Band Coaches are mentors who have some experience in music – either formally or informally. Coaches are comfortable assisting with music writing, the creative process, practicing instruments and performing. Band Coaches are positive and encouraging. They provide feedback and support to their band. Band Coaches are the campers’ biggest cheerleader!
Each camper band has a Band Coach who helps the band develop their song and get it ready to be performed at the end-of-week Showcase. Band Coaches spend the entire camp day with their band, except during workshops. Band Coaches are responsible for chaperoning their band members to and from rooms at camp, to the bathrooms, and generally ensuring the safety of their band. Each band may have two volunteers in the position of Band Coach, or a coach and a youth Ambassador. Band Coaches are required to attend the Showcase.
