Girls Rock MKE needs volunteers all year long, not just during camps! We would love to match your skills and availability with a committee or team seeking assistance. Or if you’re interested in an even deeper commitment, our Board of Directors is always looking for new faces!

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Meets in person as possible, once per month (time TBD).

The Finance Committee oversees the preparation of the annual budget for Girls Rock MKE; coordinates with the Fundraising Committee to help develop fundraising plans; and makes accurate financial information available to the Board of Directors, staff, and the public.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

Meets virtually on the 1st Monday of each month at 6pm.

The Fundraising Committee communicates with the Board of Directors regarding fundraising goals for each year and the delegation of funds per needs/projects; leads the discovery, planning, and facilitation of all fundraising opportunities; researches and applies for grants; coordinates with the Marketing Committee to implement community outreach and communication regarding fundraising events; works with the Volunteer Director to staff any fundraising or community outreach events; and coordinates donor appreciation efforts.

GOVERNANCE COMMITTEE

Meets virtually on the 4th Monday of each month at 6pm.

The Governance Committee supports the Board of Directors in following correct nonprofit legal parameters, to the specifications of the government and organization bylaws; maintains accurate and updated organization bylaws; and assists in defining roles and responsibilities of Board members and organization leaders, including creating organizational charts and documents.

MARKETING COMMITTEE

Meets virtually on the 2nd Monday of each month at 6pm.

The Marketing Committee leads community outreach for the organization, including representation of Girls Rock MKE and its mission to press/media; coordinates with the Board of Directors to craft and maintain the voice and identity of the organization; maintains updated information on all Girls Rock MKE channels including but not limited to the website, social media, volunteer boards, and community groups; leads and delegates all communication for the organization; coordinates with vendors and maintains inventory and organization of merchandise; and provides branding materials and files to staff/volunteers who need them and/or assists staff/volunteers with the creation of branded materials.

sTREET TEAM

The Girls Rock Street Team tables at concerts, street festivals, and other events on behalf of Girls Rock MKE and helps post flyers across the city for Girls Rock-affiliated events. This is a great position for someone who is flexible and open to help where needed, or does not have a lot of time to commit.

PROGRAMMING COMMITTEE

Meets virtually every Thursday at 6pm.

The Programming Committee works with Girls Rock MKE’s staff to plan and staff camp.

gEAR SUBCOMMITTEE

The Gear Subcommittee maintains and repairs Girls Rock MKE’s instruments, keeps an instrument inventory, and may work with staff to connect with community partners and suppliers regarding gear. This is a great position for someone who is experienced with instruments and audio equipment, flexible and open to help where needed, and/or does not have a lot of time to commit.
